User Ratings and Reviews

4 Stars Great product, within it’s limits
So far I love mine. It’s a great size. I did upgrade a few things. I added more memory, and upgraded the hard drive to a 120gig SDD. I use it for DJ’ing and music editing. It works very well.

I can’t get over the size, though. I can’t believe something this small works so well and does things that not that long ago were practically a fantasy on my desktop.

And if you need an optical drive – either pony up for a full size laptop – or buy an external. An optical drive defeats the purpose of these netbooks.

5 Stars 2nd Review – Different Color – AWESOME Product
Hi All,

I have already reviewed another S10 and wanted to share my thoughts on this one… This is the 2nd one in our household. Only difference between the two is that the first was 160gb hard drive and this is 80gb hard drive:

Quote from past review:

I am not going to go into every little detail about this machine as there are many many wonderful reviews about it. I suggest you read through all of them and this one too. My review simply compliments everything above.

I bought this laptop for one of my younger kids to play some online games.

It is FANTASTIC.

When it first arrived it was a bit on the slow side…slow in terms that the hard drive was blinking non stop…this is due to the 512mb that it ships with…. Simple solution…I bought a 2gb dimm from Amazon and installed it after receiving it in 1 day…overnight. Awesome speed Amazon!!!

XP, to me is dated….Vista is a beast…so I opted to try the Windows 7 beta on this machine after reading many blogs that suggested that 7 was perfect on netbooks. Very True. I downloaded the public beta of 7 and using some google searching created a bootable 4gb usb thumb drive. We turned the Lenovo off, inserted the drive, and it immediately booted to the 7 installation. EASY…… The installer found every driver on the S10 without issue…with the exception of the power management drivers…which can be found easily on the Lenovo website.

7 works spectacularly with the keys on the keyboard, including the brightness controls and volume controls. All perfect!!!!

One great feature, with windows 7 is that once you close the lid on the s10 it puts the machine automatically into hibernation. Once you press the power button, it resumes without flaw… My $3500 thinkpad doesnt even do that as easy as the s10 does.

My ONLY issue with this netbook….like there are with other netbooks…is the size and placement of the right shift key…it can drive someone nuts when writing a review. haha! Perfect for kids….but if you type a lot…then it may drive you crazy until you get used to it.

Final word…great machine, great value, get the 2gb upgrade, enjoy!!!!

5 Stars It took me 200 light years to decide — it was the right decision.

http://www.amazon.com/review/create-review/ref=cm_cr_dp_wr_but_right?ie=UTF8&nodeID=172282&asin=B001H9AK0I&store=electronics#

I bought mine in White. I took out the Amazon credit card and got 30 bucks off. I had spent nigh on a month trying to get this decision right. I sold my Asus EEE 901 for 280 and got this for 260 all in.

This machine is a panacea to portable computing needs. I upgraded the ram, but that’s not really necessary… I use it with home broadband, airport broadband and a Verizon USB broadband connection and it goes like hell.

Most importantly the keyboard is majestic. If you can’t cope with the small shift key, you shouldn’t be typing. It’s simple. The keys have a brilliant depth, good return and great shaping.

The machine boots quick, works quick and looks great.

I made entirely the right decision. Moreover, TigerDirect shipped it in moments. I don’t work for them (in fact right now I don’t work at all!)…

So buy it, my boyfriend bought the HP Mini, but I think mine’s better…

5 Stars Practically perfect!
I take this netbook with me to everywhere. It’s always in my purse. I take notes during classes, write a paper when I’m waiting at the bus stop or check my emails at a coffee shop etc. I know that pictures can be deceptive sometimes. Its actual color is very nice- definitely not a hot pink but a rather light sweet pinkish color. I’ve tried Asus and HP. I’ve returned both. Lenovo design is absolutely the best of all. Remember ALL netbooks come with no optical (CD/DVD) drive for weight and performance concerns. And Lenovo S10 is the best of all.

5 Stars Very solid, well designed
Lenovo and Acer are probably the best makers of the mininotes right now.

We chose the Lenovo for a more solid build and a 10.2″ screen being quite a bit bigger than an 8.9″ screen. Given the aggressive pricing from Lenovo, I just can’t see any other choice because they make the best designed laptops on the planet.

I’ve been very impressed with it — after you remove Norton (which is the first thing you must do before anything else), the S10 runs XP quite well on half a gig of ram. (though upgrading to 1.5 G is cheap and easy).

Keyboard feels solid, all the slots are in the right place, the built in camera and speakers are wonderful, the touch pad is very good. There is no need for a CD drive when you have memory card slots that can hold 16 GB SD cards. On the other side is a PCIE slot you can fill with a flash device or a removable HD if you want.

My desktop monitor is 24 inches so the screen of this thing is quite small, but it’s a top quality LCD, bright and sharp. The keyboard likewise is small and takes getting used to but is quite servicable. Obviously this is not an everyday computer, it’s the one you take to the park or on vacation, or the one you put in your kitchen.

User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars Great Netbook
I bought my NC10 about a month ago now. I have been very pleased with it so far. I did upgrade the memory from 1GB to 2GB – it’s a very cost-effective upgrade with memory as cheap as it is now. It performs well, you can even do some light gaming on it. I mostly use it to surf the web, email, hulu.com, etc.

If your in the market for a Netbook, you can’t go wrong with the Samsung. And in reality, I’d dare say it’s one of the best ones on the market.

5 Stars Slick “mini” computer
I bought the NC10 for my wife to use at her “desk”; i.e. the kitchen table. It is small, lightweight, and easy to store when not use.

The screen is bright (with several settings) and easy to see. I like the Windows XP operating system since it is what I have on my other computers. Ergonomics are great; particularly the keyboard. I suppose the touch pad is fine but I don’t like them and bought a Digitech wireless mouse. To soon to know which my wife will prefer.

For web browsing and email this little guy works just as well as its bigger brothers (desktops and laptops). As a matter of fact it will become our travel computer. If I had found this sooner I would not have bought a laptop. Instead of the bulk/weight of a laptop the NC10 can be carried in a briefcase. It has a media player and the “My Documents” (including My Pictures) standard on XP. The screen is too small for me to use on a daily basis but fine for short time when away from home. You can also set up seperate settings for two (or more) people. When the computer starts we can choose between my wife or me.

But it does lack features found on full size computers. The biggest omission is a CD/DVD player. But you can buy a Samsung external CD/DVD drive which plugs right in with a USB port; you don’t need a seperate power source since it draws from the NC10. It also does not come with Windows Office and other software. The speakers are pitiful; not a problem for us but needs to be pointed out here.

Do buy the 2 GB memory card; it speeds up performance and is inexpensive. Even with my limited computer skills I swaped the cards in 5 minutes. Do read the “how to” in the User Guide included on the NC10 before swapping.

Price shop the heck out of the NC10; look beyond Amazon. I found the best deal after “googling” it. Paid under four bills. I noted while looking on Amazon today that price seems to very with color.

All in all, I’m very impressed with the Samsung. It is perfect for my wife as well as for travel. If I get heartburn over something, I’ll report back.

4 Stars cute! cute! and it works ok, too.
I’m far from a techie, so I really liked the cute pink color – even though my three year old son’s finger prints do tend to show.

This was my first netbook, so there were a few things that I don’t exactly care for, but I understand they’re what you get with a netbook. First, it was a little slow pulling webpages. We upgraded the memory, and that helped a lot. If you do this, be sure to check crucial’s website to make sure you’re getting the right one. Amazon recommended the wrong one to me. Second, the speakers are practically nonexistant. That’s not normally a problem for me, but be prepared. Finally, the screen is really tiny. Be sure you know exactly what 10.2 inches means. Again, all of these issues are with netbooks in general, not with my Samsung NC10. Overall, I think it’s a great (and cute!) little machine. The battery life is phenomenal.

4 Stars Really lovin’ my Samsung!!
As a nursing student, this netbook fit the bill! It’s light enough to fit into my purse or backpack. I get compliments on the pink color, but mostly I’m asked about its performance. While it is not a fast as my Mac, it is gets the job done. The keyboard is surprising comfortable. The only issue I don’t like is having to hit the function key for some letters on the keyboard. Anyone know how to change that function, no pun intended, PLEASE let me know.

5 Stars Samsung Netbook Shines!
I looked at a variety of netbooks and this one simply outshined them all. I have not been disappointed. It’s perfect for on the go and does everything it should. Samsung did an excellent job.

I upgraded to 2 gig of ram and the installation was simple.

Some advice from personal experience. I purchased a generic external USB Slim DVD CD R/RW Drives Burner Writer from ebay for $30 to watch DVD’s and play games. They are usually $40-$50 with shipping included (shipped from China) and downloaded the Intervideo XPACK after coupon for $12 and have had no problems. If the audio/video freezes plug in the power usb cord in addition to the usb cord for playing the device and this solves the problem. This download gives you the software and decoder allowing you to play your DVD with the Intervideo, Windows Media Player or Real Player.

ATT is the best wireless card reviewed by CNET. They did a wireless card showdown this week.

Oh, don’t forget to use both the Windows Update and Samsung Update Plus and download the updates on a regular basis. Very easy to use.

User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars WOW!! Lightweight! great screen size and keypad…
Okay, so first let me state that the only difference between this netbook and the 1000HA is bluetooth(not all that important)and the wireless-n connectivity. FYI wireless-n is supposed to be new wireless technology with greater range and faster connection speeds. I haven’t hooked up to an -n router yet so i cant really comment on its effectiveness. The 1000HA is about $100 cheaper so you can make the decision for yourself. I’m sure there is a usb converter out there somewhere. So now lets talk about performance. I basically purchased this netbook because i will be backpacking in Thailand for about 20 days and also sometimes i get bored at work. The weight and size of the keyboard and screen are perfect. Downloaded and played back movies with ease. Also this is one of the few netbooks that is upgradeable. I easily just popped out 2 screws, and there’s the harddrive and RAM slot. Pulled out the 1G and installed 2G RAM. I can say that this lil thing is fast; I can have a movie downloading, have one playin, surf the net, all without problem. Tiny fan doesn’t make a sound. It can run a lil warm, but i wouldn’t say hot. The black carrying case it comes with is very handy as you can also use it between your lap and the machine. The 7hrs. of battery life is really more like 5 1/2 hrs. Mousepad is fully customizable so you never really need to use the “stiff” buttons that everyone keeps whining about. 2 finger scrolling, 3 finger right-click, adjustable drag&drop settings, etc. The thing i like most about this machine is that it feels sturdy and well-made, not cheap and flimsy. Amazon user comments were very helpful and i got my machine much faster than expected via FedEX. I can’t recommend this machine highly enough. Thanks Amazon!!

5 Stars Great Buy!
I had looked around and done a lot of research before settling on this netbook, and I’ve been nothing but pleased after a month with the unit. I regularly get 5.5 hours of battery life, the keyboard took almost no time to get used to, and it runs plenty fast for all of my needs.

Excellent product!

5 Stars The right one
I love this product. I’m using it right now to write this review. It has some great features like multi-touch touchpad, built-in bluetooh connectivity, 6 cell battery, perfect screen size and it is light enough to take everywhere. My unit came with a small problem in the left button of the touchpad: the buttons are made of aluminum and it seems that the button is a little “curved” which makes it “clickable” only in part of it. It’s no big deal, since I don’t use it. I just use the touchpad itself to perform actions – right click, left click, scrolling, zooming, navigate back and forward in webpages and other actions. When I’d placed my order there was no picture of the product (now there is one) and when it arrived I got surprised by the “Sweet Pea Green” color. It’s brighter than I expected which makes it look a bit like a toy. Now I’m used to it. I even like the color, but my next one will be black or blue. If you are not sure about the color I can tell you that it is very similar to the picture.

5 Stars A Superb Daily Driver
EDIT 1/19/2008: The first unit I bought had a faulty hard drive and kept bluescreening and rebooting itself. Fortunately the retailer I purchased it from has a “no hassles” return policy so I was able to swap it.

———————-

In this review I’ll provide a summary and then I’ll list the pros and cons of the eee PC 1000HD.

First of all I’d like to say that this is a delightful little daily use laptop. I got it earlier today. For the price, it’s fast and stable. Its build quality is surprisingly good and the casing is stylish and aesthetically appealing. The battery life exceeds expectations for a sub-$500 laptop.

Just to get this out of the way up front, the keyboard is rubbish. It’s utter trash. Although the letter keys are larger than those of earlier models, the layout, the missed keystrokes and the awful key bounce makes typing on this netbook a chore.

Pros:

* The screen is very bright and high contrast with not a trace of flicker.

* The stereo speakers are decent, sufficient for casual listening.

* The large, wide multitouch trackpad allows access to all areas of the screen without having to lift and reposition your fingers.

* The battery life is superb at this price point (between 3 hours 45 minutes and 5 hours – be careful though and read the box carefully, some versions of this model have a 3 cell battery, some have 4 and some have 5 – don’t depend on product literature because some stores will advertise a 6 cell battery but it actually says 4 on the box).

* No built in crappy webcam (a webcam is an accessory, don’t buy a laptop because it has one; it’s probably going to be crap and it’ll just take up extra system resources).

* The product is small and light but has a decently sized screen.

* Boot time is surprisingly short (which is good since you’ll be rebooting Windows at least twice a month after Windows Update, whether you like it or not).

* The product is very easy to setup, just snap in the battery, plug in the power chord and press the power button.

* Build quality is superb. All components fit together well with no visible gaps or deformities.

* There’s plenty of storage onboard for all your files and documents so no need to carry an extra hard drive or thumb drive with you.

* Applications load and react to input quickly.

* This model is MUCH faster and more stable than the SURF models. Its speed and stability is surprising.

* The video quality is SUPERB. It’s the only laptop-type device I’ve ever used that can play full motion video over Remote Desktop. I use it to watch the TV card on my computer upstairs while I’m downstairs in the front room so I can watch two shows at once.

* Sound quality is superb. The manual is correct in that plugging in a set of headphones or external speakers improves quality greatly. The internal speakers are okay but plugging in a nice set of headphones adds a lot to the experience. The onboard amp can drive my ULTRASONE PROline 550 S-Logic Surround Sound Professional Headphones nicely without the need for a headphone amp.

* The microphone is excellent. I enjoy using Skype to make phone calls on this netbook. The acoustic echo canceling allows you to use the built-in stereo beam mic for audio and video conferencing and the snappy video performance ties the experience together nicely. I use Skype’s auto redial feature so that I don’t have to manually redial the phone over and over for hours to get through to the Oregon Department of Unemployment Assistance.

* The beefy 120GB hard drive gives you room to grow. The hard drive comes partitioned into two drive letters, ostensibly so that you’ll never run out of room for system updates on the system partition, however being a mature adult I used Norton PartitionMagic to merge the two partitions into one drive letter.

Cons:

* This is more about eee PC’s in general: The model numbers are very confusing. Do I want the 1000A? Or perhaps the 1000H? Maybe the 1000HD? There doesn’t seem to be any comprehensive list that compares the features and helps you to select the model you want/need, and most stores only carry two or three models out of the line.

* The non-standard keyboard layout has me hunting and pecking a lot even though I usually type upward of 50 WPM.

* There’s noticeable key bounce so I have to use backspace a lot due to repeated characters. I counted that while writing this review I had to backspace repeated characters 27 times.

* The right side shift key is the same size as the arrow keys and it’s situated to the northeast of the arrow keys, so often I find myself hitting the up arrow key when I wanted to hit the shift key.

* There’s a dedicated “Prt Sc / SysRq” key but you have to use the Fn key to get Home and End key functionality. WTF? Seriously who uses “Prt Sc / SysRq” more than Home and End?

* There are only four dedicated hardware buttons even though the strip they’re on could easily accommodate eight more. The rest of the functions without dedicated keys (brightness, volume, etc) require you to use Fn + a number key.

* If you’re a palm leaner you’ll find the “Intel Inside” and “Designed for Microsoft Windows XP” badges haphazardly slapped onto the lower-left of the deck scrape against your palm frequently. Pull them off and throw them away or stick them on the bottom of the base.

* The status LEDs on the right side of the deck are excessively bright to the point that it’s like having four little flashlights shined into your eyes. Put some electrical tape or other dark adhesive material over them. I used some leftover material from the decal I stuck on the lid to cover up the LEDs and to cover the eee pc logo on the lid.

* The AC power adapter connector is flush with the bottom of the deck so placing the product on any soft surface such as a couch or your lap places undue stress on the connector, which I am sure will result in a loose/broken connector sometime in the future. I probably shouldn’t complain about this since the manual says not to put the device on any soft surface, anyway.

* The product runs too hot to be left comfortably against skin, so don’t plan on having this device on your lap while you’re watching TV unless you’re used to playing the “balance the hot Intel processor based laptop” game.

* The print on the keys is somewhat dim. Brighter lettering would help offset the garbage keyboard layout.

* The left and right mouse buttons require too much pressure to actuate.

* The display is much wider than it is tall, so while you can fit a whole web page on the screen horizontally, there’s not much content room left vertically after the browser’s toolbars and status bar, so it’s a bit like browsing the web by looking at it through a slot. Some application windows don’t fit on the screen and the “quick switch” button for resolution doesn’t offer a high enough resolution to see the whole window, so you’ll find yourself opening up the screen settings control panel and manually setting the resolution, awkwardly scrolling around the “virtual desktop” to access the window controls, then setting the resolution back to fit the screen.

* The wireless adapter defaults to disabled in the BIOS settings after the BIOS is upgraded, so most users will assume after upgrading the BIOS that the wireless adapter just doesn’t work anymore. To turn it back on you have to hit F1 at power on and enable it in the BIOS menu.

* Lots of extra Microsoft garbage installed (Windows Live Messenger, MSN Toolbar, etc etc) takes a long time to uninstall. I can’t imagine myself ever needing Microsoft SQL Server.

* The netbook gets so hot it can burn your skin. The manual warns you not to let it come in contact with skin because it can burn you. Wow, that seems a bit like having a television that you can’t look at because it will burn your retinas. I wish I were exaggerating but I’ve had to stop using the keyboard and let it cool down because it was hurting my fingers. Switching to “battery save” mode seems to help some and doesn’t affect performance noticeably.

5 Stars Great mini laptop/netbook for the money!
I compared several netbooks before choosing this one. The Asus 1000HD which has the intel celeron, runs much hotter than this 1000H with the atom processor, based on my use of both for a week. This one has the webcam and bluetooth as well, where the 1000HD does not. I would suggest getting a wireless mouse b/c the mousepad is rather stiff. If you are just websurfing and using iTunes, you do not need more RAM. The keyboard size is fine for me, but might be a little too small for someone with big hands. Once you get used to the blue coded function keys, (home, pg up/down etc.) it’s a breeze. The location of the right shift key is odd. For some reason Amazon had this listed at 6 pounds, but it’s only 3.2. Mine came with a black carrying case, which I was not expecting. Amazon is the only site I found with the 1000H in colors. Bestbuy only had black. I like the white and the green for not showing fingerprints and dust. The 10″ screen is plenty for most webpages. I love this for the size and weight, and highly recommend it.

User Ratings and Reviews

4 Stars Lenovo IdeaPad S10 — Fine, capable unit
I did a lot of research and looked at a lot of units before selecting this one. I liked the construction quality, the styling, screen size, large disk, ease of memory expansion and screen brightness. All have proven to be great. It’s a solid unit, decent battery life and, of course, a great size. Can easily work in coach airline seats with this unit and even have room for a separate mouse. Which you’ll want because the negatives are the mouse (noisy, stiff) and the keyboard layout. Both easily overcome by taking time to adjust to it or using remapping software. It would also be nice to have BlueTooth, but maybe in the next version. Overall, I think it’s a really fine netbook and would have no problem recommending it.

5 Stars Great item
Having first purchased a Dell 9 inch and having to return it because the wi-fi did not work, I thought a little larger screen would be better. I am very satisfied with the Lenovo 10 inch netbook. I use this as a computer away from home. Light weight and great for travel.

5 Stars good buy for the money
I also bought the Asus 10 inch model with Linux before I got the S10 like another reviewer said. I sold my Asus in about 2 month ebcause frankly I really don’t know how to use Linux. I can surf internet fine by installing software on it isn’t so easy, and I just give up. The load time for the linux Asus was not as fast I thought it would be considering it’s linux and all. With the S10, I am pleasantly surprised it wasn’t loaded with crap like Dell, and I only uninstalled the anti-virus thing because I have another one. Other than that, nothing junky and not many programs on there at all.

I just bought mine (Lenovo sells the one with 6 cell battery now) and arrive today, yes it took a LONG time, about 1 month for them to ship. Once they ship it got here within 2 days. So far i am happy with it. The design, the feel, the quality of the keyboard and screen. Battery sticks out al ittle but I don’t mind it. XP loads up really fast, faster than Linux. ALl prgrams loads fast and well. The only initial problem I had was wifi set up. It keep saying about unable to authenticate certificate soemthing. Called tech support, and got an idiot who knows less about networking then me, give up, fixed the thing myself. It was only a matter of unchecking a box in the settings. After that everything was great. I have no problem with keyboard layout, track pad feels good even though it’s small. Clickers are nicely gone, not too tight or loose. Haven’t tried upgrade RAM yet, maybe some day. I am happy with the way it is now. SUper fast and looks great!

Also I bypassed the purchase of Acer (new 10 inch) for this one because the mouse/tracker on Acer is not great. I hate having the clicker on the left and right side of the mousepad. I like and am used to them being on the bottom. Also the mousepad on the acer model is even smaller.

4 Stars a lot of machine for $400
I am liking this Netbook, finding it to be fast and powerful enough for my needs at work and on the road. It is lightweight, attractive, and fun. I have had it a month now. Really good for travel and moving around, quick to pick up wireless options and get on-line. Two and a half hour battery, recharges in one hour. Nice long cord. No CD rom built in, so must use an external unit, or another computer to play disks, but with three USB portals, this is easy to negotiate. The only down-side for me has been learning to use the small rightside shift key…if your right pinky misses that little key, you find yourself moving along another line of type, and have to pause to make adjustments.

At just $400 (including sleeve, tax, and delivery), with such a light weight and small size, I love it.

5 Stars Excellent netbook
I looked at several brands of netbook before deciding on the Lenovo. I am very happy with my decision. While the keyboard is slightly smaller than other 10″ netbooks, it is certainly usable with a little adjustment (I am a touch-typer). The only bothersome oddity is the right shift key, as others have mentioned. That being said, the feel of the keyboard is much better than others in my opinion. In addition a new model is out now (the S10-2) with a better keyboard layout.

The place where the Lenovo shines above others, in my opinion, is in its fit and finish. Others seem to lack the attention to detail that this model has. For example, the keyboard on the HPs (I saw this several times) is mounded up on the left side and the shiny plastic over the screen is rippled. Annoying. And a lot of times the Asus keyboards registered false (or no) keystrokes. The MSI Winds like to tip over backwards. But the Lenovo is pretty solidly built, and it looks tastefully subdued like a good business machine should. Pretty nice if that’s your thing.

I found that it’s processor and hard drive are plenty fast for me even with “only” 1 GB of RAM installed. But I’m not a gamer and don’t care to watch videos on it, so I don’t really push the limits. The screen is pretty nice and is the full 1024×600.

The model I received included the Splash Top quick boot OS. This allows you to boot an appliance-like OS which has a browser (a rebranded and stripped down Firefox 2) a media player and a few other tools. It’s nice but it disables features like plugins for the browser, or the ability to download files, so there are limits to what you can do with it. Great if you want to check news & weather or quickly get directions on the way out the door.

If you’re interested, here’s how the hard drive was partitioned: 115 GB primary partition formatted FAT32 contained the Windows XP OS. I’m pretty sure FAT32 was chosen instead of the newer NTFS because it allows Splash Top to access media files you have obtained and stored using Windows. A second 30 GB partition formated NTFS shows up as drive D: in Windows, and there is a 3rd partition (hidden in Windows) used to store disk images for the One Key Restore system.

I wanted to install Ubuntu Netbook Remix, but the manual advises not to mess with the 115 or 15 GB partitions because it may cause the One Key Restore to stop working. So I decided to use part of the 30 GB partition to install Ubuntu. This actually seems to work out pretty well because Ubuntu has no problem easily accessing the FAT32 main partition natively. So you can store all your music, movies, photos and working files on this large partition and use them either in Windows or Ubuntu. Makes for a pretty good setup.

The install of Ubuntu was painless. Just follow the instructions on the Ubuntu site and it does pretty much the rest for you. Networking, sleep and hibernate, screen brightness and volume and all the other function keys worked without having to do any tweaking. Only the internal mic needs some help to get working, but instructions are available if you look for them on the web. The nice think about UNR is that it makes really good use of the limited screen area on these smaller computer. It also boots faster than Windows and seems generally snappier.

I would certainly recommend this model to anyone in the market for a netbook.

5 Stars Pretty in Pink!
My husband just gave me the Acer Aspire One 8.9″ pink netbook for a present (a waaay early Christmas present, but I’m not complaining!). It took about 5 minutes or so before it was completely ready to go (we uninstalled the trial McAfee virus protection and downloaded the free AVG software), including setting up the wireless connection. The first night I used it, it went 7 hours on battery power (I had the power setting at max battery), and was still operating quickly even though I had it on the most energy-efficient setting. For the price, this little beauty is amazing. I will still use my 15.4″ laptop mostly at home, but for traveling and if I want to use a computer in our house outside our den (where I use the laptop) I will definitely be using the Acer Aspire One.

Great value for the money, especially with the long-lasting 6-cell battery. And cute as a button to boot!

5 Stars Flawless
I love this little laptop. It is so worth the money! With the extended battery, I can have it for all of my classes, and it is so small it fits right in my purse. Also, when seen, several people comment on how cute it is, not that that’s a truly important spec, but it’s nice to have a little nerd-envy. I would recommend this to anybody looking for a light computing laptop, or a college student looking for something to bring to class. Though the keyboard is small, it’s easy enough to get used to, as I am typing on it right now. My favorite thing about this laptop, is how fast it is while booting up and shutting down. I don’t have to wait nearly as long as I used to with my old laptop!

5 Stars excellent product
his product is very good, I don’t have complaint some I recommend it for those people that want a portable one without a lot of demand and simple

5 Stars Acer Aspire One – Pink
I ordered this for me and I love it. I love it because it is little and can slide down in my purse. I have been at the doctors office and several places and had a long wait and I just pulled this out of my purse and was lucky there was wireless internet available and it helped my time pass quickly. I would recommend this to any one.

5 Stars Spanking Product
The main draw was it was pink.. After alot of tweaking and installing apps- she does exactly what I tell it to.. I bought this with the pink case and I carry it in my fanny pack

Sometimes I stop at starbucks while everyone is using their vaios.. And they are like, oh I never! Then they see my pink lightning and they get jealous.. One time I came across a couple of guys in the park who tried to steal it.. It’s pretty rugged, like this one time, I hit this guy over the head with it while it was powered on! He rolled down a hill and I kicked his face before he ran away.. It didn’t even have a scratch on it..

I can’t say enough about this laptop.. One time I left it on in the bag too and it got all hot and still works.

If you are new to computers or use facebook and have an iphone, just buy a apple.. If you know how to work with computers, then slap on the goods and fire up the pink monster
